Liziba Station

Liziba Station is an elevated side-platform station on Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) Line 2, situated at the intersection of New Jialing Road and Guihuayuan Road in Yuzhong District, with the Jialing River flowing to its north.

While globally famous for its light rail train passing straight through a residential high-rise, Liziba is much more than just a transit hub—it’s a living part of Chongqing’s urban fabric, woven with local daily life, wartime history, and countless untold stories.

A Modern Engineering Marvel

Designated as one of China’s 70-Year Growth Landmarks ahead of National Day celebrations, Liziba Station is a pioneering feat of urban transit. As the first elevated station built directly through a skyscraper, it has captivated visitors worldwide since its opening.

First-time travelers are left in awe as they watch the train seemingly "vanish" into the building—whether from the viewing platform below or from inside the train itself. The station’s seamless integration of public transport and urban living reflects Chongqing’s innovative spirit in adapting to its mountainous terrain.

More Than Just a Transit Hub

Liziba’s fame is no accident. Beyond its groundbreaking design, the station embodies the resilience and ingenuity of Chongqing. It stands as a symbol of how the city has redefined urban mobility without disrupting the rhythm of local life.

From its role in easing the "Mountain City’s" transport challenges to its quiet presence in the lives of residents, Liziba is a place where engineering meets humanity—a must-see for anyone visiting Chongqing.
